The shape of the outside perimeter is an important consideration when estimating replacement value of a home.
The more complex the shape, the greater the cost per square foot of floor. Consider the shape of a multi-story
or split-level home to be the outline formed by the outer-most exterior walls including any garage. Most homes
have 4, 6, 8 or 10 corners. Any insets that do not require a change in the roof shape can be ignored when
determining the shape.
